David Leach’s career as a cartoonist, writer and editor celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. It started on January 2nd 1986, when at the age of 23 he started working as British animator, Bob Godfrey's 'ghost artist' drawing Henry's Cat comic strips.
He created his most popular character, Psycho Gran in 1987 for the much-loved kids comic, Oink. He worked as an editor for Marvel UK, editing and writing Rugrats, Beavis & Butt-head, Ren & Stimpy, Glam Metal Detectives. He also coloured several regular titles for Marvel UK, including: Warheads, Death’s Head II, Biker Mice from Mars.
He has written and edited several national newspaper comic strips of Ren & Stimpy, Spider-Man, and Wallace and Gromit for a variety of newspapers including: The Sun, The News of the World, The Sunday Times, The Saturday Telegraph and has also written gags for Private Eye.
David is the Senior Creative Editor at Titan Comics, where he edits titles as varied as Blade Runner, Rivers of London and The Phantom of the Opera. He currently publishes, through Dead Universe Comics, an eclectic range of his own titles that includes: Psycho Gran Versus, Psycho Gran Comic Capers Cavalcade, his autobiographical comic - David Leach Conquers the Universe, Dinner Ladies from Hell, and Monolith: Adventures in Hollywood. Psycho Gran currently appears in David Lloyd's digital comic anthology Aces Weekly.
