Kate Charlesworth’s cartoons first appeared in the gay press in the early 1970s. Subsequently her work appeared across the media, including comics in The Guardian and New Scientist and later, in comic anthologies and graphic novels.
With Bryan and Mary Talbot she co-authored Sally Heathcote – Suffragete (Cape 2014). Her acclaimed memoir/LGBTQ+ history of the UK, Sensible Footwear - a Girl’s Guide (Myriad, 2019) been reissued in French as A Pink Story – Mon Manuel LGBTQI+ (Casterman, 2021) and in German as United Queerdom (Carlsen, 2023)
She is currently scripting a new graphic novel, and lives in Leith.
