BANNER SELL GOES HERE - FOR EXAMPLE PODCAST

Zara Slattery is a comic artist, illustrator and educator, and author of the award-winning graphic memoir COMA (Myriad Editions), a beautifully painted visual diary of her 15-day drug-induced coma, rendered as a full-colour fantasy where mythological creatures and nightmarish forces mirror her struggle to survive and protect her children.

Her work explores medical, historical and environmental themes through collaborative, research-led comics. Zara is a disability and inclusivity advocate, co-director of the Comics Cultural Impact Collective, and a steering committee member of the Society of Authors’ Comics Creators Network. She is currently working on a graphic adaptation of the medieval eco-fable Sweeney’s Progress.
