LICAF 2026
The 14th edition of LICAF took place from 2nd to 4th October
We were delighted to be returning to Kendal in 2026... after all, everything started here way back in 2013! And we were honoured to celebrate the National Cartoonists’ Society of American 80th Anniversary, and to have a focus on ‘Belgian Comics Now’ thanks to our ongoing partnership with Wallonia-Brussels International and the Brussels Comic Strip Museum.

Asterix vs. Tintin - The Rematch!
The LICAF 2026 Opening Night Event - Friday 2 October
LICAF’s most popular opening night event dates back to 2016 when we entertained our audiences with The Clash of the Toon Titans – Asterix vs Tintin. It was a close call but in the end Asterix won the public vote. In 2026, two teams of internationally-renowned creators jeopardised their health and reputation to battle it out once more. Along the way, the audience was asked to vote for one side or the other and throughout the evening some of the fastest cartoonists on the planet brought this epic battle to life. MCed by the brilliant and impartial Keli Lark. The battle concluded with Team Asterix coming out on top once more!
